Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, and video game consoles such as Xbox do not support built-in VPN functionality. But, you can still use a VPN for secure gaming. Most smart TVs don’t support it either, with the exception of Android-based TVs, but there is still a work-around to get a VPN on TV. If you have an Android TV, you can download VPN for Android TV. For everything else, we have three leading solutions:
Three ways to set up a VPN on smart TVs or consoles
- Setting up NordVPN on your router. This way, your smart TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, or video game console will have a VPN connection from your router.
- Sharing a wireless VPN connection from your Windows PC.
- Sharing a VPN connection through an Ethernet cable from your Windows PC.
