This feature automatically blocks ads, trackers, and malicious URLs and is only available with selected NordVPN plans. Learn more about NordVPN Threat Protection Pro™.
Setting up Threat Protection Pro™ on macOS
To set up Threat Protection Pro™ on macOS, follow the steps below:
- Open the NordVPN application and click on the shield icon in the upper-left side:
- Alternatively, the Threat Protection Pro™ can be accessed by pressing the turn on button:
- Next, press the set up Threat Protection Pro™ button:
- Once the pop-up message appears, select the open system settings options:
- Afterward, press the toggle button near the NordVPN:
- Enter your password and press the OK button:
- Then, press the continue button:
- Next, press the add proxy configurations button:
- Confirm this action by pressing the allow button:
- Once the next pop-up message appears, enter your password and press the update settings button:
- Press the continue button:
- Make sure to enable the cloud-based threat scanner by checking the box:
- Press the System settings > Privacy & security > Full disk access button:
If you’re using macOS Monterey version or older — go to security & privacy, select full disk access in the left panel, and click on the lock icon at the bottom.
- Enable the toggle button near the NordVPN Threat Protection Pro™:
- Confirm your choice by inputting your password or using touch ID:
- Lastly, press the browsers restarted button to finish setting up the Threat Protection Pro™:
