How to set up a NordVPN Dedicated Server?

NordVPN's Dedicated Server provides you with your own virtual VPN server with dedicated resources, a static IP address, and port forwarding capability. Unlike shared NordVPN servers, your Dedicated Server is used exclusively by you - giving you full control over your VPN connection with consistent performance.

This article will guide you through setting up your NordVPN Dedicated Server after purchase.

Setting up your Dedicated Server

Once logged in, select the NordVPN button located in the upper-left section on your dashboard.

Navigate to the Dedicated Server section. You will see a prompt to set up your server.
Click the Set up dedicated server button.

Choose a server location:
1. France, Paris
2. Germany, Berlin
3. United Kingdom, London
4. United States, Phoenix
5. United States, Boston

Confirm your selection. Your server will begin provisioning — this usually takes a couple of minutes.

Once the setup is complete, your server page will display the server status as Active, along with your dedicated IP address and location.

You will also receive a confirmation email with your server location, dedicated IP address, and instructions to connect.

NOTE: While the server is being set up, the page will show a loading state. You can wait on the page or return to it later.

Once this is done, you have successfully set up the NordVPN Dedicated server. You can now proceed with connecting to a dedicated IP on your device:

Connecting to your Dedicated Server

Open the NordVPN app and make sure you are logged into the account with the Dedicated Server subscription.
In the server list, find the Dedicated Servers group.
Click your Dedicated Server to connect.

The app will connect using the NordLynx protocol automatically. Once connected, the connection card will show the server type as Dedicated Server along with your dedicated IP address.

Tip: You can set your Dedicated Server as the default connection target. Go to Settings > Preferred location and select your Dedicated Server. This will make it the default for Quick Connect and Auto-Connect.

Important information

Because the server and IP address are exclusively assigned to your account, your online activity may be linked to your account. This differs from standard shared NordVPN servers, and the Dedicated server does not carry the same no-logs guarantee. Please review the Dedicated server Terms of Service provided during purchase.
