Problem
You can’t connect to a VPN server on NordVPN’s tvOS app.
Common symptoms
- The NordVPN app is stuck on the “Connecting” status.
- You get a message saying “Connecting has taken too long.”
Troubleshooting steps
NOTE: Make sure to check your connection after each step.
- If you used the “Secure my connection” button to connect to the VPN, try manually selecting and connecting to several specific countries instead.
- See if another network works better, or switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet.
- Restart the app:
- Stop the VPN connection attempt.
- Close the NordVPN app.
- Relaunch NordVPN and try connecting.
- Disable post-quantum encryption:
- Go to “Settings” by selecting the cogwheel at the top-right of your screen.
- Navigate to “Post-quantum encryption.”
- Set it to “Off.”
- Reinstall the NordVPN app by deleting and installing it from the Apple App Store.
Additional tips
- Restart your device.
- Check if the issue persists on a different device.
- Make sure that your internet connection is active.
