JavaScript is disabled

You need to have JavaScript enabled to access your Nord Account. If you’re getting an error that says “JavaScript is disabled,” and you're wondering how to fix that, you will need to manually enable JavaScript on your browser.

Edge (Windows 10 and Windows 11)

To enable JavaScript on Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:

  1. Click the three-dot icon in the top-right corner to open the menu.
  2. Select settings.
  3. In the search bar on the left, type in “javascript” and press enter.
  4. Click JavaScript under app permissions.
  5. Toggle allowed (recommended) to enable JavaScript. 
  6. Restart your browser for the changes to take effect.

 

Mozilla Firefox

JavaScript is a built-in component on Mozilla Firefox which is always enabled by default.

If a website mentions that JavaScript is not functioning properly, there may be a few reasons:

  • You have some content-blocking extensions active; You may need to turn off the extensions, which may be blocking JavaScript.
  • Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking the content. You may need to turn off the Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection, which may stop JavaScript from functioning properly.
  • Sometimes Firefox cache may also cause problems - clearing the Firefox cache may solve the problem.
  • Some websites may use cookies, which may interrupt JavaScript functions. Clearing Firefox's cookies may help to restore the correct JavaScript functionality.

If you're using an older Mozilla Firefox version, you can enable JavaScript by following these steps:

  1. Open Firefox settings:
    1. On the Windows version of Firefox, click Tools and select Options.
    2. On the macOS version of Firefox, click the Firefox drop-down list and select Preferences.
  2. Navigate to the Content tab and check the Enable JavaScript box.
  3. Restart your browser for the changes to take effect.

 

Safari

To enable JavaScript on Safari, follow these steps:

  1. In Safari, select settings and click the security icon.
  2. Check the enable JavaScript box.
  3. Restart your browser for the changes to take effect.

 

Chrome

To enable JavaScript on Google Chrome, follow these steps:

  1. In Google Chrome, click the three-dot icon in the top-right corner and select settings.
  2. Click privacy and security in the sidebar. 
  3. Open site settings.
  4. Scroll down to the content section and click JavaScript.
  5. Under default behavior, click sites can use JavaScript.
  6. Restart your browser for the changes to take effect.

 

“This site requires the use of scripts” warning after enabling JavaScript

If you see a warning that “This site requires the use of scripts, which your browser does not currently allow” after enabling JavaScript on your browser, there might be a problem with your browser cache. Try clearing your web browser cache to delete cookies and any other website data, then restart your browser.
