NordVPN not connecting on Mac

There are several reasons why you may be having trouble connecting to NordVPN on your macOS device. These include issues with your account status or app configuration. Here's how you can troubleshoot your connection on macOS:

  1. First, check for any issues with your account.
  2. Second, try switching to the TCP connection protocol. Here's how:
    1. Click on the gear icon at the bottom left corner of the app.

    2. Select the General tab. Under VPN Protocol, select the OpenVPN (TCP) protocol.

  3. If that doesn't help, try changing your DNS servers to Cloudflare DNS ( and (Notethese DNS servers are not provided by NordVPN, so they should be used at your discretion).
  4. Additionally, try using Obfuscated Servers. You can locate the Obfuscated Servers under the Specialty Servers section after switching to the TCP protocol.
  5. In case of a Keychain pop-up, type in your system password to connect.

If it does not disappear after clicking the "Allow" or if the "Always allow" button is not even clickable, please follow this guide to unlock the keychain.
