Introduction
In this article, you will learn about the NordVPN Dark Web Monitor feature and the difference between it and Dark Web Monitor Pro™.
Dark Web Monitor
Dark Web Monitor feature continuously monitors email addresses and other added assets for data exposures, including passwords or other sensitive personal information, and alerts you once it detects a potential threat on the web.
What is the difference between the NordVPN Dark Web Monitor Pro™ feature and Dark Web Monitor?
The NordVPN Dark Web Monitor Pro™ feature allows you to monitor the following assets:
- Up to 8 email addresses at once.
- Up to 2 credit card numbers at once.
- Up to 2 national ID (Social Security) numbers.
NOTE: Credit card and national ID numbers are hashed for security and privacy. Only numeric national ID numbers are supported.
The Dark Web Monitor can only monitor up to 5 email addresses.
What happens when Dark Web Monitor Pro™ expires?
If your plan doesn't include Dark Web Monitor Pro™, you will be able to keep five email addresses monitored as long as you have a NordVPN subscription. Suppose you had any credit card numbers or more than five emails added for monitoring. In that case, the Dark Web Monitor feature will not monitor those assets, keeping only the first five email addresses enabled and actively monitored.
