The NordVPN application is using too many system resources on Linux

Problem

The NordVPN app is causing performance issues on your Linux device.

Common symptoms

Your computer slows down when NordVPN is on.
The installed resource manager shows NordVPN using more than 50% of RAM or CPU.

Troubleshooting steps

Restart your computer.
Temporarily turn off Threat Protection to see if it's causing issues:
1. Click the “Settings” button on the left side of the application.
2. Click “Threat Protection.”
3. Click the blue button if it is turned on.
Reset the application settings:
1. Open the Linux terminal by pressing the “CTRL,” “ALT,” and “T” keys together.
2. Write these commands:

sudo rm /var/lib/nordvpn/data/settings.dat
sudo rm -rf ~/.config/nordvpn
```
3. Log back into the NordVPN application.

Additional tips

Check if the issue occurs on other devices connected to the same network. If it does, try switching to a different network.
