Problem
Your Android device can’t access the internet when you use NordVPN.
Common symptoms
- The NordVPN app is not loading the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Internet Protocol (IP) address information.
- Applications are showing “No Network” or “You’re Offline” messages.
Troubleshooting steps
NOTE: Make sure to check your connection after each step.
- If you used the “Secure my connection” button to connect to the VPN, try manually selecting and connecting to several specific countries instead.
- Change the VPN protocol:
- Open the NordVPN app, scroll down to the cogwheel icon, and select it to access the settings.
- Scroll down to “App settings” and select “Protocol.”
- Try connecting with all available protocols.
- Reset your network settings:
NOTE: This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, and VPN or APN settings you’ve used before.
- Open up “Settings” on your device.
- Scroll down to “Network and Internet” and make sure the Wi-Fi toggle is on.
- Select “Wi-Fi” and then select “Forget Network.”
- Restart your device and reconnect to the network.
- Reinstall the application:
- Open up “Settings” on your device.
- Select “Applications.”
- Select “Manage Installed Applications.”
- Find NordVPN and select “Uninstall.”
- After it uninstalls, restart your Android box and download NordVPN from the Google Store (or the Amazon Store if you have a FireTV device).
- Restart your device.
Additional tips
- Restart your router.
- Check if you have other VPNs running on your computer.
- Check if the issue occurs on other devices connected to the same network. If it does, try switching to a different network.
