I keep getting logged out on iOS

Problem

You are often unexpectedly logged out of the iOS NordVPN application.

Common symptoms

  • While using the NordVPN application, you frequently get logged out.
  • You get logged out immediately after logging in to NordVPN.

Troubleshooting steps

  • Clear the cache of your default browser. If your default browser is Safari:
     
    1. Open the “Settings” app.
    2. Tap “Apps.”
    3. Tap “Safari.”
    4. Tap “Clear History and Website data.”
    5. Tap “All History” and “Clear History.”
       
  • Disable cookie blocking on your default browser. If your default browser is Safari:
     
    1. Open the “Settings” app.
    2. Tap “Apps.”
    3. Tap “Safari.”
    4. Tap “Advanced.”
    5. Toggle "Block all Cookies" off.
       
  • Change the default browser of your device to a different one:
     
    1. Open the settings app.
    2. Tap “Apps.”
    3. Tap “Default Apps” at the top of the list of your apps.
    4. Tap “Browser App” and select a different browser.
       
  • Use a different internet connection type (for example, if you were connected via Ethernet, try connecting using Wi-Fi).
  • Reset your network settings:
    NOTE: These steps will also reset Wi-Fi networks, passwords, and the VPN or APN settings you’ve used.
     
    1. Open “Settings” on your device.
    2. Tap “General.”
    3. Tap “Transfer or Reset iPhone” at the bottom of the list.
    4. Tap “Reset.”
    5. Tap “Reset Network Settings” and enter your passcode.
    6. Restart your device.
       
  • Reinstall the application:
     
    1. Tap and hold NordVPN on the home screen.
    2. Tap “Remove app.”
    3. Tap “Delete app” and confirm.
    4. After the app uninstalls, install NordVPN from the App Store.

Additional tips

  • Check your internet connection without connecting to the VPN.
  • Wait a few minutes before trying to log in again.
  • Check if the issue occurs on other devices connected to the same network. If it does, try switching to a different network.
