- While using the NordVPN application, you frequently get logged out.
- You get logged out immediately after logging in to NordVPN.
Quick fix
Sometimes, the Windows NordVPN app starts before your internet connection is fully established, preventing proper authentication. Follow these steps to ensure that doesn’t happen:
- Wait 60 seconds after your computer connects to the internet before opening NordVPN.
- If already open, close the app completely (right-click system tray icon → Quit app).
- Verify you have an active internet connection.
- Reopen NordVPN and log in.
Troubleshooting steps
If the Quick Fix steps did not fix it, try following the troubleshooting steps below:
- Check browser and email settings:
- Check your email for Nord Account security notifications. If you recently changed your Nord Account password or enabled 2FA, certain updates might be required.
- If your default browser is Microsoft Edge, temporarily change it.
- If you have an antivirus, ensure NordVPN is on the exclusions list.
- Reset the application settings:
- Press the “Windows” and “S” keys together on your keyboard to open Windows search.
- Enter “Diagnostics.”
- Open “NordVPN Diagnostics” and click “Yes.”
- Click “Reset app.”
- Wait for the commands to finish running before the application opens.
Additional tips
- Reinstall the NordVPN application by uninstalling it and downloading the newest version.
