My internet disconnects when using a VPN on tvOS

Problem

Your tvOS device can’t access the internet when you use NordVPN.

Common symptoms

  • The NordVPN app is not loading the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Internet Protocol (IP) address information.
  • Applications are showing “No Network” or “You’re Offline” messages.

Troubleshooting steps

NOTE: Make sure to check your connection after each step.

  • If you used the “Secure my connection” button to connect to the VPN, try manually selecting and connecting to several specific countries instead.
  • Restart the app:
     
    1. Stop the VPN connection attempt.
    2. Close the NordVPN app.
    3. Relaunch NordVPN and try connecting.
       
  • Restart your Apple TV device.
  • Reinstall the NordVPN app by deleting and installing it from the Apple App Store.
  • Restart your router.

Additional tips

  • Disable any other VPNs running on your tvOS device.
  • Check if the issue occurs on other devices connected to the same network. If it does, try switching to a different network.
