You are often unexpectedly logged out of the macOS NordVPN application.
Common symptoms
- While using the NordVPN application, you frequently get logged out.
- You get logged out immediately after logging in to NordVPN.
Troubleshooting steps
- Change the default browser of your device:
- Click the Apple icon at the top right.
- Click “System Settings.”
- Click "Desktop & Dock.”
- Scroll down to "Default web browser" and choose the browser you want.
- If you have an antivirus, ensure NordVPN is on the exclusions list.
- Delete and reinstall NordVPN using the version downloaded from our website:
- Open the Finder app by clicking the happy face icon in the dock at the bottom of the screen.
- Click the “Applications” folder on the left.
- Right-click the NordVPN app icon and select the “Move to Bin” option.
NOTE: You don’t need to empty the bin to reinstall NordVPN, especially if you have other files there you might want to keep. - Restart your computer.

Additional tips
- Make sure your device has a stable and active internet connection.
- Wait a few minutes before trying to log in again.
- Check if the issue occurs on other devices connected to the same network. If it does, try switching to a different network.
