NordWhisper is a new NordVPN protocol designed to overcome restrictive local network environments, ensuring a smoother and more consistent browsing experience. It is the ideal solution when dealing with filtered content on office or campus networks, Wi-Fi networks with security filtering found at airports, cafes, hotels, or conferences. All of this is achieved while maintaining your security and privacy.
Currently, NordWhisper is available on Windows, Android, Linux, iOS, and macOS devices
NOTE: NordWhisper is not compatible with Dedicated IP, Meshnet, Obfuscated servers, Onion Over VPN, or P2P servers.
Here's what to do
Windows/macOS
- Open the NordVPN app and click on the gear icon.
- Click "General" if you're on macOS or "Connection and security" if you are on Windows.
- Click on the currently set protocol on the right, and you will see a list of options.
- Click "NordWhisper."
Android/iOS
- Open the NordVPN app and tap on the profile icon on the right:
- Tap "Settings."
- Tap "VPN protocol."
- Tap "NordWhisper."
Android TV
- On the main page of the NordVPN app, scroll on the left until you select the cogwheel to access "Settings."
- Select "Protocol."
- Select "NordWhisper."
Linux GUI/CLI
- GUI:
- Open the NordVPN GUI app and click on settings:
- Click "VPN connection."
- Click "NordWhisper."
- Terminal:
- Open the Terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T shortcut).
- Enable OpenVPN with the following command:
nordvpn set technology NORDWHISPER
