How to use NordWhisper on NordVPN

NordWhisper is a new NordVPN protocol designed to overcome restrictive local network environments, ensuring a smoother and more consistent browsing experience. It is the ideal solution when dealing with filtered content on office or campus networks, Wi-Fi networks with security filtering found at airports, cafes, hotels, or conferences. All of this is achieved while maintaining your security and privacy.

Please note that NordWhisper is not compatible with Meshnet, DIP, Obfuscated servers, Onion Over VPN, or P2P servers.

Currently, NordWhisper is available on Windows, Android, and Linux devices. To use this protocol, check the guidelines below:

 

Windows

To use the NordWhisper protocol on your Windows device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the NordVPN app, click on Settings and select Connection.



  2. Next to VPN protocol click on the dropdown list and select NordWhisper.





    Once you reconnect, your Windows device will be under VPN connection using the NordWhisper protocol.

Android

To use the NordWhisper protocol on your Android device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the NordVPN app, tap on your Profile on the bottom right of the screen and select Settings.



  2. Tap on VPN Protocol.



  3. Select NordWhisper.



    Once you reconnect, you'll be connected to the VPN using the NordWhisper protocol on your Android device.

Android TV

To use the NordWhisper protocol on your Android TV device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the NordVPN app, select Settings in the side panel on the left and under App settings choose Protocol. Now select NordWhisper.



    Once reconnected, your Android TV will be connected to the VPN using the NordWhisper protocol.

Linux

To use the NordWhisper protocol on your Linux device, follow these steps:

  1. Once you've logged into your NordVPN account, you can change the connect protocol in use with the following command:
    nordvpn set technology NORDWHISPER



    Now, when connecting to the VPN, you'll be using the NordWhisper protocol.
