Split Tunneling is not working on NordVPN

Problem

The NordVPN Split Tunneling feature does not correctly split your connection.

Common symptoms

  • An app you configured that is not under the protection of a NordVPN server loses its internet connection.
  • Although an app was not added to the list of applications to be under a VPN, it is still routed through a VPN.

Troubleshooting steps

  • Reset the application. Find the reset instructions in this article.
  • Reinstall the NordVPN application.
  • Reset the network. Keep in mind that this also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, VPN, and APN settings you’ve used before. Here is how you can do that:

    1. Click the question mark button in the lower-left corner of the NordVPN app.
    2. Then, click the run diagnostics button.
    3. Once the pop-up message appears, optionally select the checkmark boxes to include the list of installed applications and system dumps, and press continue:
    4. Afterward, select the reset network option.
    5. Wait for the commands to finish running and restart your computer.

Additional tips 

  • Restart your device
  • Turn off any additional VPN services
