It says my username or password is incorrect

Problem

When logging in to NordVPN from NordAccount, after typing your username and password, you get the "The password you entered is incorrect. Please try again." error.

Common Symptoms

  • NordAccount only shows the "The password you entered is incorrect. Please try again." error.
  • After you press "Log in," you get returned to the login screen.

Troubleshooting steps

NOTE: Check if you can log in to NordAccount after each step.

  • Double-check for any typos in your password and email when logging in.
  • Try a different default browser.
  • Make sure you are using the latest version of the application.
  • Reset your password:

    1. Open the Nord Account login page.
    2. Click "Forgot your password?" under the blue "Log in" button.
    3. If you have already entered your email, a password reset link will be automatically sent. Otherwise, you will have to type your NordVPN email.
    4. Check your email inbox for a password reset message.
      NOTE: Check your spam or junk folders if you do not see the email.
    5. Click the blue "Reset password" button and follow the on-screen prompts.
    6. Log in using your new password.
