Introduction
In this article, you will be able to see what steps you need to take in order to reset the NordVPN settings to default on operating systems such as Windows, Android, macOS, and Linux.
Here's what to do
Windows
- Open the NordVPN application, and click on the question mark button on the lower-left side.
- Click the "Run diagnostics" button.
- Click"Reset network."
- Click "Reset app."
NOTE: It may take up to a few minutes for the app to reset. - Your application preferences and settings will now be reset, and you will be asked to log back in.
Android
- Find the NordVPN app on your home screen, long-press the icon, and tap "App info."
- Tap "Storage & Cache."
- Tap "Clear storage."
- A pop-up will appear, tap "Delete."
- Your app preferences have now been reset.
Android TV
- Open the "Settings" app.
- Select "Apps."
- Select NordVPN.
NOTE: If you do not see NordVPN in "Recently Opened Apps," then select "See all apps" and find NordVPN there. - Select "Clear data" and "Clear cache."
- A pop-up might appear; select "Delete."
- Your app preferences have now been reset.
Linux
- Press Ctrl + Alt + T to open the terminal.
- Type the following command and press Enter:
sudo rm /var/lib/nordvpn/data/settings.dat
- Next, type the following command and press Enter:
sudo rm -rf ~/.config/nordvpn
- Your app preferences have now been reset.
