Umschalten des Protokolls auf OpenVPN UDP oder TCP

Some NordVPN server categories, found under the Specialty Servers section, are only available when using the OpenVPN UDP or TCP protocols.

Currently, these categories include Double VPN and some of our obfuscated servers. This article provides instructions on how to change your connection protocol on various operating systems. Before you begin, we encourage you to read our article on the difference between TCP and UDP.

 

Here's how to change your VPN protocol to UDP or TCP on your Windows device:

  1. Open NordVPN app and click on a gear icon:

  2. Select connection:

  3. Click on options of VPN protocol:

  4. Select either the OpenVPN (TCP) or OpenVPN (UDP) protocol:

Here's how to change your VPN protocol to UDP or TCP on your Mac device:

  1. Open NordVPN app and click on a gear icon:

  2. Select general:

  3. Click on options of VPN protocol and select either the OpenVPN (TCP) or OpenVPN (UDP) protocol:

Here's how to change your VPN protocol to UDP or TCP on your Android device:

  1. Open NordVPN app and click on a profile icon:

  2. Scroll down until you see settings. Click on it:

  3. Choose VPN protocol:

  4. Select either the OpenVPN (TCP) or OpenVPN (UDP) protocol:

Here's how to change your VPN protocol to UDP or TCP on your iOS device:

  1. Open NordVPN app and click on a profile icon:

  4. Select either the OpenVPN (TCP) or OpenVPN (UDP) protocol:

Here's how to change your VPN protocol to UDP or TCP on your Linux device using Linux GUI and terminal:

Linux GUI

  1. Open NordVPN GUI and click on settings:

  2. Choose VPN connection:

  3. Select either the OpenVPN (TCP) or OpenVPN (UDP) protocol:

Terminal

  1. Open the Terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T shortcut).

  2. Enable OpenVPN with the following command:
    nordvpn set technology openvpn
  3. Type the following command to select OpenVPN (TCP):
    set protocol tcp
    Type the following command to select OpenVPN (UDP):
    nordvpn set protocol udp
