Proxy setup on Firefox

Note: you don't have to set up a proxy if you are already connected on NordVPN app.

1. Open Mozilla Firefox.

2. Click on the Firefox Menu, which is in the top-right corner of the browser window and then press Options.

3. Options window opens. Click on General, scroll down and choose Settings under Network Proxy.

4. A new window pops up. Choose the Manual proxy configuration.

5. In the HTTP proxy field enter one of NordVPN’s servers addresses. You should choose a server from NordVPN recommended servers page. Also, check the box Use this proxy server for all protocols.

6. For Port enter 80.

7. It is optional to choose the box Do not prompt for authentication if password is saved. If you choose it, then once you save credentials for proxies, the authentication will not prompt again, unless it fails. Click on OK after you finish the setup.

8. When you will try to access a site you will be prompted for the username and password. Enter your NordVPN service username and password and press OK.

You can find your NordVPN service credentials at the Nord Account dashboard. Copy the credentials using the buttons on the right.

That is all! Your Mozilla Firefox configuration is done.

If you want to check whether it really works, go to our page which is called "What is my IP", where you will see the IP address of your chosen server.

As generating and remembering strong and secure passwords is not an easy task, we recommend downloading a free password manager, like NordPass. It generates secure passwords for you and stores them safely, letting you avoid time-wasting password resets in the future.

NordPass offers native apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, so you can reach your passwords whenever and wherever you need them, even offline.
